ECOmachines (1) - future awaits

Ecology has become one of the more exploited terms in modern public debate. Politicians, entrepreneurs and scientists discuss it. Everyday life also confronts us with this topic when we sort waste, try to save water and energy. Industrial production seems to be at the very opposite extreme. The word industry often brings automatic associations with smoking chimneys, enormous consumption of energy, raw materials and water. However, it is in various industrial sectors that a lot is thought about reducing the costs of ecological operations.

Modular production lines

Don't lose it, reuse it!

When introducing a new reference into production, one of the key issues is the decision to build a new line or rebuild the old one. This is especially difficult in this time of supply chain crisis. In this case, it is worth betting on an experienced supplier of production lines and machines, with extensive know-how in the field of automation and robotics equipment and its integration. Such an entity often has a strong team of specialists in designers, mechatronics, automatics and programmers and is able to usefully and optimally use the components of an existing line to modernize or complete a technological line for the needs of new production. The supplier's own machine park is an additional advantage, allowing the regeneration or modification of mechanical elements as well as the rapid production of completely new details if necessary. Production line operators are often surprised at how much existing components and equipment can be used. The bill is then simple & ndash; a significant reduction in the costs of introducing new production, reusing components instead of their disposal or storage, reducing the amount of waste and reducing the consumption of raw materials for the production of new components.

Tool changeover function

Avoid disposables

When ordering a new production line, especially in industries where there are frequent new references, it is worth considering various aspects for future production. Of course, it is difficult to precisely define the parameters of future references, but already at the stage of specification and design, it is possible to define design patterns that will extend the useful life of the line. It is also possible to repeat at this point as a mantra that it is important to choose an experienced manufacturer of lines and machines, who can accurately define potential difficulties and solve them effectively. One aspect of & oacute; w is modularity & ndash; the modular structure of the technological line allows for its flexible reconfiguration in the future or replacement of a single module instead of the whole. Modularity is achieved through the use of appropriate mechanical solutions, standardization of dimensions or elements that facilitate transport. Convertibility is no less important aspect & ndash; is a set of features recorded in the mechanical design, connection structure and programming method, which enables the use of the line / machine for future production references. In this way, the entire body and its infrastructure are universal and only the toolkit is replaced with a specific reference. Conversion must be intuitive, fast and safe. It is possible thanks to mechanical solutions in the form of ergonomic handles, handles or hooks, connection solutions, e.g. in the form of coded quick couplers and design patterns in the software. All this makes future modifications to the line or machine cheaper, easier and leaves a smaller ecological footprint.
